Social Media and Multimedia Coordinator

Jersey City, NJ
Full Time
Mid Level

Franklin is a visionary high school — a place where students have the freedom to chart their own course, as they lean on our long history of educational excellence.

With a unique approach, Franklin engages students actively in their own learning through a flexible, cutting-edge curriculum designed to educate innovators and socially responsible global leaders.

Grounded in an applied-learning philosophy, Franklin was created for today’s learners: technologically adept, focused on the future, and eager to make a difference in the world. Our School was founded by the same family of expert educators who created the global network of Dwight Schools, which began in Manhattan in 1872.

When community, collaboration, and flexibility underpin a learning environment, students shine. In bringing these together, we’ve created a school where students can carve their own paths with choices in both what and how they learn, and empower them to have agency over their own future.

With a foundation in applied learning — otherwise known as “learning by doing,” whereby students learn through direct, hands-on application of skills and theories — Franklin cultivates a dynamic, diverse educational community, rooted in collaboration and flexibility and emphasizes student-centered instruction that inspires and engages students and teachers.

At Franklin, we strive to ensure that our environment is welcoming — a place in which everyone can thrive — and an organization we are proud of. We recognize that this takes trusting relationships and ensuring that all individuals feel valued regardless of their backgrounds.

At Franklin, we consistently strive to advance the equity, diversity and belonging of our community in all domains, including the curriculum, admissions, environment, and hiring. Our goal is to achieve and maintain equal employment opportunities, with policies in place to maintain a work environment free from discrimination.

  • Capture compelling classroom moments, athletics, and scheduled events via social media-ready photography, and video clips in coordination with the Director of Video Production.

  • Create branded social media graphics with guidance from our Design Director
  • Manage the uploading, vetting, tagging, and sharing of photos/videos in Canto, the School’s photo management system
  • Monitor and identify opportunities for growth through engagement data and insights from social media trends in general and fellow independent schools in NJ and NYC
  • Respond to queries/messages that come through platforms in a timely manner; monitor comments and report any negative interactions
  • Work closely with the Events Manager and Franklin team members to plan and help run a series of events throughout the year for students, faculty, staff, parents, and prospective families. This sometimes requires extended evening and weekend hours.
  • Take on additional responsibilities to support the team as assigned by supervisor and department head
